Gabe-Ace Ventura

Corey and I are not comedians by any means. Corey on occasion tries to crack a joke, but sometimes it just doesn't make sense and as for me, I don't even try. Some how we have got a comedian in our family in the form of Gabe. The things he comes up with are hilarious and I find it hard to get really mad at him when he is acting so ridiculous.

Just last night Gabe got out of the shower and of course has no qualms about walking out totally naked unlike his brother who must be covered at all times. He goes into my bedroom and as I am walking in he turns around and talks to me with his butt. I know really crude right, but I couldn't help laughing because I know he has never seen Ace Ventura Pet Detective, yet there he was. Corey was in the room as well and we both just started cracking up. I told him to get dressed and get out, but how could I get too mad at something that made me laugh at the end of my day.

So here is just a little shout out to my Gabe, who makes me smile and laugh and forget that I am having a hard day. We always said he looked like a old man in a baby's body, now he even has a grown up sense of humor that is too good to resist.

ALL IN THE DAY IN THE LIFE OF LEXIE

I do wake up with the intention of being good and so today I decided to try once again to be the perfect angel that everyone seems to think that I am. I was doing ok till I decided to visit my friend who lives by me, and I really wanted to try this new hairstyle that I saw the other day. My friend was nice enough to give it a try and this is the result of all her hard work:

Mom wasn't too happy with me, so she made me go to my Aunt Sally to get it fixed. I have no idea why it was such a big deal, she just seemed to cut more off.

After we got home I thought I would draw mom a nice picture because she handled my haircut so well, but I got distracted by all the crayons on the floor and decided that a mural on the tile would be much prettier. So I drew mom this beautiful picture, although once again she was not too happy with the results. Mom was very happy for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser which seemed to take it right off.

I was so tired from such an eventful day. Although mom kept saying how exhausted she was I was the one who did all the work. I think I was looking out the window and the next thing I knew mom was carrying me into my bed. Whew, all in a days work.

The Early Bird.....

I am all about the early bird gets the worm. I wake up early during the week to go and walk and I never complain. Then of course on Black Friday my mom and I are the crazy shoppers up at 4:30am to get the good sales. Corey has gone to Denver to help move my brother-in-law's family down so I am alone with the kids. I had made up my mind I would sleep in this morning. I was so looking forward to laying in my warm bed while the window was open and you can hear the early sounds of morning come in. But no, not to be. Lexie makes an appearance around 4am and of course I let her in bed with me. She wiggles, even cries out in her sleep so I am in and out of sleep till the lovely hour of 5:30am when Logan comes in asking if he can play Xbox and get some breakfast. Keep in mind that during the week my kids don't get up till about 7am, so this was very frustrating with me. And the worst part is once I have been woke up I have a hard time just relaxing back to sleep. I keep thinking of all the things I could be up doing instead. So I moaned out of bed ate breakfast and did my new pregnancy workout video which kicked my trash. With walking every morning I assumed that it would be easy. Looks like I need to keep doing this occasionally because I have fallen into the wimp mode. Oh well, and it is only 8am.......

Redone half Bath

This past week I got tired of my poor little half bath. This room seemed the most neglected due to the fact that Corey and I are the only ones that use it. Well I got crafty and decided to change it up for the better. My good friend Danielle came over and put some texture on the wall for me. Then I painted it and replaced the wall mirror with a cute framed one and hung up a nice picture frame on the wall above the toilet. I still need to add a towel rack and buy new hand towels and a rug to match. I was really happy with the results and nothing feels better than accomplishing something by yourself. I must add that Corey did nothing to help me so that made me feel even better. Next is my bedroom which needs a lot of work, so it probably won't be awhile till you see pictures of that. But at least I am getting it one little bit at a time.

Before
Before ( I had just taken down the wall mirror)
The wall with the texture
View of the toilet (sorry my bathroom is so small pictures are next to impossible.)
My new mirror and as a side note Corey hates my pick of color but I really like it.

Dead Mr. Fishy

Poor Mr. Fishy has joined fishy heaven in the sewer this week. I can't figure out what wrong. I had just changed his water that morning and I can only figure something got in the water that did not set well with him. I was walking by and took my usual look at him and he was at the bottom of his bowl floating straight up. I felt horrible and the kids just thought it was cool that we flushed him down the toilet.

A Day at the Fair

Last night we went to the Fall Festival here in Coweta. Corey didn't want to go because yes it is a big waste of money, but I had earned some money working at a gym nearby and offered to use that. The kids were so excited and this was just about the smallest fair I have ever been to. But as long as the kids were excited that is all that matters. We bought a ride for each kid and then let them choose one treat from the concession stands.

Gabe chose the little alligator roller coaster. He thought he was pretty cool stuff and even held his hands up in the air as it went around. I don't think he really got the concept of only one ride because he kept assuming he was going to ride with Logan on his ride as well.

Our lovely concession stand pit stop. The boys wanted ice cream, with all the yummy fried foods available that is all they wanted. Of course Corey and I got a funnel cake to share and the kids even helped a little with that.

I had to laugh at Lexie because she only wanted a pop. So we spend one dollar on a little can of soda. We could have brought her one from the house for free if we had known that is what she wanted. She would choose that over everything else.

I loved this picture because she is just looking up at Corey so sweetly and Corey is holding her hand. He loves his little girl and is glad we are having another one. She wanted to ride the horses and guess what, she chose to ride on the bench. She must of gotten some weird mutant gene.

Here they are waiting to get onto Lexie' ride. She is so much calmer than the boys who were constantly moving round. They make me dizzy sometimes trying to keep up with them.

Logan really wanted to ride on the Farris wheel, so we waited in this huge line only to be shot down by the cigarette smoking hippy running the ride. Apparently you have to have at least two people to get on, which was not on a sign anywhere. Logan was pretty upset about that, but decided on the motorcycle that made way too much noise for my liking. But at least it got his mind off of the Farris wheel.

We had a really great time and Corey told them maybe next year when we go to a fair he will have enough money for two rides, I told him we just need to drive four hours to Dallas to Six Flags and pay the entrance price for them to ride all they want. So maybe next summer we will plan a little trip down.

16 week appointment

I had my 16 week appointment today and things look great. I am measuring right on and I did gain about 6 pounds, which is a little high, but I think it might have something to do with the fact that food started to finally taste good to me. They did an ultrasound in office and the picture was so clear. She was sucking her fingers and moving all over the place. I still haven't felt her move so seeing her so active was incredible. And if you haven't guessed I found out it is another girl for me. That is right she flashed us big time. There was no question about it. She had her legs crossed at first and then switched to her side and we go a clear shot. So Corey gets his wish for one more girl and the choice of name. So all that work for boys names was for naught. I have my professional ultrasound the last week of this month so that will be fun to see her again. I still can't believe I have that little human in my belly right now...weird.

Tired of feeling crappy

So anyone who really knows me knows how fanatical I can be about my eating. I bought this book when I was working out heavy and then when I got pregnant I just went back to the usual way I was eating, which was just making what sounded good. For the past couple of weeks my digestion has been horrible. I have some inconsistencies in my bathroom routine and I hate it. Not to mention the stomach pains I get on a regular interval after eating anything with huge amounts of sugar (ahh red vines). So I decided to go back to my eat clean philosophy which is a great way to look at eating. You basically eat things in there natural state and no prepackaged foods. I have eaten clean all day and I have already noticed a huge difference in how I feel. My stomach doesn't hurt today and I have more energy too. So although I am not doing this as a weight loss tool, I am trying to see if cutting out all the crap and replacing with healthy alternatives will make a difference in how I feel.
I have been craving fish and if that isn't weird I don't know what is. I usually hate fish but today I ate a whole can of tuna and it tasted so good. Maybe I will have to try some salmon or shrimp next time....what is happening to me?

Gum Fun

So I did not get a picture of this latest disaster, although Corey told me to, I forgot. But I know you guys have a very good imagination. Lexie comes out of her bedroom this morning and gives me the usual hug. As I go to move her hair away from her face I get my fingers stuck in something. Looking down I realize that she has a wad of gum all matted in the back of her hair. I ask her where she got the gum? She said that it was on the dresser in her bedroom. My brother in law is staying with us and she got into his gum. So I was scared that we were going to have to cut it, because it was in there good. But my friend Danielle, thank you so much, has some goo be gone and that took it right out. I had to wash her hair with dish soap first then regular shampoo to get the goo be gone out, but it did work. At least I don't have to buzz her head like I threatened to do.

Makes Me Grateful

You can't help but gripe about things that happen to you in your everyday life. And then you think why me right? Well I have to say that knowing the Summers family in our ward has put so many things into perspective for me. Instead of feeling miserable because I don't have something or when little things go wrong during my day, I find myself feeling grateful for what I do have. I have a healthy husband who loves us, I have three kids who yes fight a lot, but they are healthy and active and in quiet moments they do show and exhibit love to each other. I have a home all my own and we are not in any financial troubles with the economy being so crappy right now. Looking over this I have to honestly say that I am grateful for my blessings. My prayers and hope are with the Summers family who are struggling with cancer in the family. We are here to support and help and thank you for reminding me of what really matters in this life.

15 weeks Pregnant

I thought it was about time that I posted a picture of how I am progressing. I am finally starting to show a little bit and Corey says I look more pregnant now instead of the good old chunky look. I have kept up with exercising everyday but I have been horrible on my eating habits. Hopefully I can get those in check before I gain too much weight. We should find out the end of this month what we are having and I am so excited to find out. Only four and a half more weeks and I will be halfway through. Whew. I will try to keep things posted. I know I have been lax lately, but I keep forgetting my pictures and post without pictures get boring after awhile.

Corey's New Pride and Joy

Well the time has finally arrived for Corey to get his long awaited TV. I have been putting it off forever it seems. I kept coming up with excuses why it was not a good time right now. Well we had the money, it was a good buy and so Corey finally got his TV. He absolutely loves it. He loves playing his Xbox on the big screen with HD and I have to admit it looks tons better than our tube TV did on that same TV stand.
