Where have I been?

I am so sorry that I have fallen off the face of the earth and the worst part is I don't even have pictures. This past week Corey's family was in town and I totally spaced it on the camera. So I have no pictures to show you all what we did all week. Corey's dad helped us fix up some stuff on our house. We went bowling and went out for ice cream. It was a nice visit. Corey's brother came as well with his family. We hung out and went to the splash park. They had a great time playing with their cousins. So now that I am back in the swing of things hopefully you will hear more from me. I know I dropped the ball.

Gabe's Pre-K Graduation

Gabe walking in for his ceremony
Gabe sitting patiently
Walking to get his certificate
Gabe with proud mom afterwards
Well Gabe has graduated (or has Gabe says it his Gradulation) today. I was so proud of him. They were so good to sit still in their chairs. The teacher put a men's button up white shirt on backwards as their gowns. They made their cute little caps. The songs they sang were adorable and I have added a video clip of one of them. He is such a sweet heart and he really knows how to get into my heart. On his folder there were a lot of the kids in his class that stated they loved his curly hair...I think everyone does. So off to Kindergarten next year for Gabe. I still have one more year with Lexie home and then I will be a loner....I guess we might have to remedy that soon.

Thank You Diantha

My friend Diantha had a drawing celebrating her 300th post. I never win anything, except this time. I have been waiting ever so patiently for the gift, it was lost and smashed in the mail and sent back to Diantha. So it was well worth the wait. Look at all the fun things she got me. I can't wait to use them. Thank you so much Diantha.....

Golfing (Family Fun)

Sometimes for our family fun we enjoy a good game of golf together. Granted I don't actually golf, I like to drive the cart around and watch the kids and Corey interact. This last trip was fun as usual and it was such a beautiful day. We did have an incident with Lexie. We asked if she had to use the bathroom before we took off and of course the answer was no. So on about hole 3 she has to go really bad. I know that she will not be able to hold it to the next rest stop...so I held her up and made her pee in between the two golf carts. I am glad there were no cops to get an indecent exposure charge, but when a three year old has to go, there is no waiting. I love riding and looking at all the beautiful trees and landscape. So we should have many more pictures of golf in the future.

Sorry, but couldn't resist the actual spot of relief

My fanatical husband--he loves his golf

Batter Up

Gabe's turn at bat (our lefty)
Lexie attempting to hit, more miss though
Logan getting down and dirty

For Christmas Gabe got this self loading baseball stand. Up until now it has been too cold to play with, plus it was still in the box. So I finally got the screwdriver out and put it together. It loads all by itself which really helps me out and it plays music and cheers. Really cute toy. The kids loved it. Gabe is amazing at hitting the baseball. He has always shown a lot of hand eye coordination. Logan has to practice more at it. But they both did really well and the best part is the balls are soft so they will not break one of my windows if they happen to hit them. This could be the best way to play baseball ever!!

Sunday in the Sun

Grandma reading the instruction to Uncle Josh
After we got it all blown up and ready to go
The kids rushing in for the first time
Lexie with her daddy
Yesterday we had our Stake conference and Corey and I went to the early session so that we could have all day at Grandma's house. Corey had a final paper to finish for one of his classes, so I hung out with the kids at Grandma's all day long. They invested in one of those juniper jumps and the kids loved it. We also swam a little, but I didn't get pictures of that. We love summer evenings at grandma's after church. So there should be plenty more pictures to come of all the fun we have.

Green Thumb

Last Saturday I finally was able to plant my flowers that I have been wanting to get in. I have had a major green thumb this year and the weather has not been cooperating, but finally a decent Saturday and we think the worst weather is gone now. So I went to work and planted my flowers. I think they turned out so cute and all I have to do now is make sure the weeds stay out. If I keep on top of it, I shouldn't have to deal with too much.

Fresh Fish

For those of you who really know me, know that I abhor fish. I hate the smell before it's cooked and I hate the smell of it after. But go figure on my eat clean lifestyle I have adopted, fish is almost always on the menu because of it's low fat and high nutrient values. So here I was with four fillets of white fish and trying to find something that I could choke it down with. I found this Mango salsa in my eat clean cookbook and whipped it up and grilled the fish on our grill. I put the mango salsa on top and before you know it I had it all eaten. I was so amazed that I couldn't even taste the fish. The sweet taste of the mango and the sea salt mixed in with all the other vegetables masked the flavor of the fish. I was so excited because I actually ate fish and kinda liked it. So if you are in the mood to try a really healthy meal of fish, here is the recipe for the mango salsa which was so easy:

1 mango (not too ripe) cut up in small pieces
1/4 sweet onion cut up in small pieces
1/2 red bell pepper cut up in small pieces
1/2 C. cilantro cut up
1 ts. Sea Salt (different from table salt)
1 TB fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
dash of pepper

Mix it together and serve on top of anything you like, but try the fish it was really good.
