Tulum...My Favorite

Tulum was my favorite spot that we visited. It was one of the last Mayan cities and it is located right on the ocean. It is so beautiful and I can only imagine how pretty it must of been to live there. In the pictures some look a little blurry, but don't worry that is just all the humidity in the air. Corey played golf that day, but my mom went with me instead.

We can still see the red hand prints on this building. They are the original and there are some more along the bottom.
This building paid tribute to the God of fertility..good thing you can't really touch it huh
Tulum is surrounded by this wall, so here we are going through the wall to get into the city

This was a palace they built, even though they had no Kings or Queens
Can you see the guys face on the side of the building

How pretty is that
There are little wooden stairs you can climb down and swim in the ocean

Golfing in Cancun

One day I decided to go golfing with my husband. I have to admit the course was beautiful and it was surrounded by the jungle. The wildlife was amazing. You see some really weird stuff running around. Corey golfed about 1500 dollars worth of golf while we were there. Thank goodness the golf was included in our package. Needless to say I was a loner at the resorts most of the days. But we did have the evenings together.

Drinking a pina colada before we started, it was so yummy

This little guy came right up to the cart and wanted some food. We fed him some chips
This is what I did most of the time, I was reading the twilight series which are excellent by the way.

Corey loves this picture because my brother Josh just hit the ball and notice where it went

A night in Cancun

At most of the restaurants you have to dress up to eat. On this night we got all dressed up and then after dinner went on a stroll of the beach and took pictures. I was so beautiful with the sea and the moon. It was so humid at first, but we gradually got used to the temperature. I almost think OK feels worse now that I am back. Maybe I am just going through withdrawals.

Corey and I inside the main lobby
Yum, they had a sweet shop there and they had the yummiest desserts ever..I went every night.

Cancun Day 3

So I skipped day two because it was all on underwater camera that I have to get developed first. So I am skipping to day three. We went to Chitza-neza. I know the spelling is wrong, but man was it amazing. I have always loved history and this was just so amazing to see these buildings and things that are still in great condition for being thousands of years old. We stopped and looked at the local handy craft and we also ate authentic Mayan food..which was pretty gross. But it was an all day affair so we were very tired afterwards.

My silver necklace I got for a great deal

We're Back!!!

Our vacation was amazing!!! We had so much fun and we all got so much sun. The first day we got up at 3:30am to get ready and be at the airport. Our plane left at 6am so we had to be ready and on time. I was so excited the way there I could hardly hold still. When we got there it was so beautiful. We waited for everyone else to come in and then we went out to dinner. It was a great day actually getting to see how beautiful Cancun really is.

Day 2 will follow along with the other days. It was just too many things to describe and fit into one blog. Keep checking back.

Pencils Are Not Toys!!

Yesterday was Sunday. And on Sunday morning since Corey has to go to early bishopric meetings, I head over to my mom's house with the kids. Lexie had grabbed a pencil that was unsharpened from our junk drawer and was carrying it around. In my mind I thought, well it isn't sharpened so she won't hurt herself. Not even a minute after getting to Grandma's house I hear Lexie screaming and as I go in to investigate there is blood everywhere. I starting freaking out because somehow I knew she had gotten herself with the pencil. Sure enough, she had it in her mouth and the boys accidentally pushed her down and she landed on the pencil that was in her mouth. I was so scared that she punctured the back of her throat, but because the pencil wasn't sharpened she ended up with this huge gash in the back instead. This could have been a lot worse, so I asked Lexie if she was going to play with pencils anymore and she agrees that they are not toys. I was going to take a picture, but you wouldn't be able to see it anyways.

ONE WEEK LEFT

I can hardly contain myself. In one week I will be living it up at this resort in Cancun. Just like Melissa (hey girl) I have been busting my butt to get ahead in my homework so that I can go and just relax for that week. I haven't started packing yet because then I would get too giddy and not finish the couple of chapters I have left to do in my Economics. But I just had to remind everyone how close it is getting.

Anniversary Date

Last night Corey took me out for our Anniversary. Although it isn't until Thursday, this was the only free night we have had together. We both got a little more dolled up than usual and went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse one of our favorites. Then we went to see Indian Jones new movie. Of course we had ice cream afterwards. It has been a great 9 years together and I wouldn't have my life any other way with any other man. Thanks to Danielle who watched our kids so we could have a night out alone. On Thursday maybe I will post more pictures from our early years together.

Games have become bearable

For a couple of weeks now the boys have begged Corey and I to play Uno with them. Not that we don't adore our kids, but playing card games with little kids gets daunting and so we usually say we can't or just go play by yourselves. But last night Corey and I both sat down to a little game of Uno. As we start to play I am so impressed with Gabe and especially Logan on their understanding of the game and how to be sneaky. This in turn just made me realize how big Logan is getting. I keep thinking he is still 5, but for some reason now that he is 6 it sounds even older. The best part is when we were waiting for Gabe to play his card and Logan tooted. It was really big for such a little body and the boys just started rolling. For the most part I am more crude than my husband so I can't help but giggle at what he did. Soon all three of us are rolling and I look over to Corey and he is trying so hard to look disgusted and not smile. But then he can't even resist it and he starts laughing too. It was great to have such fun with my boys playing a game. Next time we won't be as adverse to sitting down and playing.

Hide N Seek?

Hide N Seek?

Nope, just taking a nap

We have been at a tug of war with Lexie about cleaning her room for about a week now. I refuse to clean up the huge mess she has made and she refuses to clean it in return. So day after day I walk by her room and I can't even see the floor anymore. Now if any of you really know me, this bugs the crap out of me. But I am going to get her to do what she is supposed to do. Today Corey told Lexie she had to clean her room in order to go play outside. I was studying in the kitchen and I went in to talk to Corey. I asked him where Lexie was. He said she probably went outside even though he told her not to. So Corey went outside to look and he was starting to get worried that something happened to her. As I go into our bedroom again I notice a leg sticking out from under the bed. I assume she is just hiding and I told her she better get out because dad is looking for her. There was no movement and no response. As I lift the bed skirt up there she is fast asleep. It was so funny that I had to get a picture.
It is six hours later and Lexie's room is still not clean. We told her no dinner until it was clean....guess what suddenly she is not hungry tonight. Eventually she will want to eat or play and will get it done. So until then I guess she will starve before she cleans her room.
P.S. As a side note: I asked her why she couldn't clean her room. Her response...because I am too little and the room is too big. Go figure.

Study, Study, Study

I officially started my first day of school yesterday and I am exhausted. Not only have I been out of school for about four years, but I just happened to just in at the summer when classes are condensed and I had to take two higher level classes. So what does this equal to? Frustration and being so tired all the time. And it has only been two days..... I have both Financial Accounting and Microeconomics. And to make matters worse they are both 8 week classes which entail me doing at least two chapters a week in both classes. Add on to the fact that I will be gone in Cancun for one week, I have to do catch up and finish a whole week in advance before I go. So last night I was up till 1am trying to understand my Financial Accounting class and I was here all day trying to tune out kids while I worked to finish my first chapter of Economics. I am majoring in Financial Management and so I know it will only get more complicated from here. But so far Corey has been a great help considering he had to take these classes for his MBA. So I have a built in home tutor. I knew he was smart, but I never realized how smart he has gotten since taking his classes. I showed him the problem I was having issues with and he was like oh ya you do it like this. Right now I told Corey I have feeling pretty dense, but hopefully as I get used to being back in school things will work out and it will get easier for me. Plus in the fall they go to 16 week classes so the load won't be as great. So I am apologizing if my blogs get less, but I will try to keep everyone posted on our daily lives.

Another day at Grandma's

I know that everyone gets tired of seeing pics at Grandma's house on Sunday's but we sure love them. The kids look forward to it every week. There is nothing like some sun and water with family.

Gabe holding up the soccer ball

Lexie hates all the splashing that the kids do in the bigger pool. So here she is in this pitiful pool with one ring that doesn't even inflate. But she just plays away by herself perfectly content.

Logan getting ready to throw the ball at Grandma

Hot stuff getting some sun in preparation for Cancun

The ground was so wet from the storm that morning that my mom's yard was just mud under the grass. Add more water and we had a bog going on. Gabe biffed it and he got up from the grass looking like this.
