Corey's Company Picnic

On Saturday we went to Corey's company picnic at this place called Discovery land. They put on an outdoor production of Oklahoma. Before the show the company fed us dinner and had all sorts of games and fun for the kids. So we went and the kids had a blast. Gabe asked if we could come back tomorrow and I had to explain to him that it was a one time thing. Corey didn't want to stay for the show, go figure. So we played for about two hours.

We ate dinner first and I was a little disappointed in what they served. It was not kid friendly and the kids wouldn't eat. So it was torture for them to wait until mom and dad were done to go play. I did get a picture of Lexie looking really cute.

Here are some of the activities that we did while we were there. They had a mechanical bull which both boys rode. Corey only got video of that, but they really liked it. I wanted to see Corey have a go at it, but he declined. Too bad that would make a great picture.

Then the kids wanted to jump on those juniper jump things. The boys loved the huge one with the slide at the end. To get to the slide you have to climb up the other side with a rope. Lexie really wanted to go down the slide, so of course mommy had to climb up the rope with Lexie hanging on like a monkey. I was only able to do it twice before I was totally exhausted. It was so hot and I was completely soaked with sweat when I was done.

They also had a climbing wall and both boys tried this as well. Logan was having a little trouble getting up and going. But Gabe took right to it. He almost made it to the top. I think it helps that he is so little and doesn't weigh much. Corey only took a picture of Gabe, but we did get video of both.

Next we went and got the kids face painted. The girl was really nice and the kids all picked something different. We had to get pictures right away, because sure enough they reached up and smudged them right after.

They had little pony rides and all three of the kids loved this. Lexie was really scared at first and I had to walk right beside her around the little circle. I got so dizzy after a couple of turns and I didn't think I was going to make it. She wanted to ride again, but I just couldn't do the turning again. The boys loved it and so they both rode twice.

There was also a haystack Treasure hunt. They had a big pile of hay and there were tickets inside. If they found a ticket they could go get a prize at the gift shop. Lexie didn't participate because it was really wild and I was scared she would get toppled. But the boys got right in there and both got a ticket. Logan got a sheriff star and Gabe the Indian headdress. Just goes to show how different they are.

To end the night we went and got dessert. There were so many things to choose from. The kids wanted the Ice's so they all got one of those. Corey and I opted for the ice cream and brownies. We had such a great time. The only down side was how hot it felt. With the heat index I believe it was close to 105. But we all had such a great time.

School Bus

I finally realized that I need to let my boys grow up. I always rode the bus to school growing up and the fact that the bus goes straight to the school after picking up my boys helped to ease me into letting them go. They both were so excited to finally ride the big bus to school. I can't believe that both my boys are in school now. Both are in half days so at least it will be a gradual transition. Next year Logan will be in 1st grade and will stay for the full day. They just looked so cute this morning all dressed up. They are getting so big.

Tumbling

We decided to put Gabe into Tumbling since he just missed the cut off for Soccer in the fall, (Gabe was really upset about this). After looking at the classes I have decided that the cost is not worth what they teach so this will be a short adventure for our Gabber. But not to worry about him. He will go golfing with Dad to to make up for it. Then in the Spring hopefully they will both be able to do tee-ball. I took some pictures at his last class and thought they were pretty cute. He really is good at it though.
