A Crazy Day

Yesterday I had a very busy day. It was fun to actually be out and about. I met my mom at five to go visiting teaching. Then after we went out to eat at McDonald's (which is hard to do when eating clean, but a side salad works great!) Then we went next door to Ross's to look at their swim stuff. I found a great swimsuit for only 13 dollars and it is beyond cute. I am so excited. I also got a swimsuit cover-up to wear down to the pool there. After that I went back and watched American Idol at my mom's house. Then at eight I met some friends from my gym to do sprints on the local high school track. The guy is really competitive and I think I pushed myself too far because my knee is a little achy today. Plus I worked my abs so much that running re pulled those muscles that were already sore. I do feel much better today, but it just goes to show no matter how great of shape you think you are in, if you change your routine it works you so much differently. Today is more low key with nothing really going on. So now I have time to clean my house.

Sunday with Grandma

Always clean, you can see just a tiny bit on his nose
This past Sunday at Grandma's house she made frosted monkey bars for dessert. They were really good and we gave the kids theirs to eat outside. When we went to go check they had smeared the frosting all over their faces. Of course Lexie was the messiest. Logan had just a tiny bit on his nose. He has always been so clean when he eats, hates getting messy. When the kids come together with their cousins, it seems they always keep us guessing with what antics they are up to. But at least they keep life interesting.

While mom's away, Lexie will play

Sorry I do not have a picture to go with this story, but I was not home at the time of the incident and Corey just doesn't think about doing it. To get the whole picture I have to include this little tid-bit. Lexie's door knob broke and we had to get a new one. The old one we turned backwards so that we could lock her in her room at night. (I know harsh right?) So with the new one, Corey insisted that his little angel would stay in her room and didn't need a lock on it. So I reluctantly let him get it. Last night I went and hung out with some girlfriends and this happened while I was gone. Corey was watching TV in his room with door closed. Lexie sneaks out and goes into the bathroom and has a fun old time with the hand soap and water. Corey said he finally heard something and when he went to inspect Lexie was covered in hand soap and water. She decided to wash herself I guess and so Corey ended up having to strip her and give her a quick wash off. I only knew because I found her PJ's and underwear in the tub this morning. So our little angel is actually an escape artist. Back on with the lock is all I got to say.

Cancun Suit

I know that I am treading on rocky ground here with this post. I bought this suit for Cancun and I know it looks kinda risque, but on the model it didn't look that revealing to me. When I tried it on for Corey Scott he about crapped his pants and said no way. The problem is I spent like 40 bucks on this thing and the other fact is I don't know when I will be in good enough shape again to sport it in Cancun none the less. Since I know only my closest friends view this blog, I figured I could get some honest feedback. Just don't be too brutal with your comments....you might make me cry.

First Lost Tooth

Logan finally lost his first tooth on Sunday. It has been really loose for some time now, but refused to come out. So I told him how Grandpa used to pull my loose teeth all the time. So he asked Grandpa to pull it on Sunday. It took three tugs and Logan just stood there and didn't make a sound. I was so proud of him. His adult teeth are already in behind the smaller ones, but the dentist said it won't affect the baby teeth falling out. Needless to say he lost the tooth in the van on the way home, so the tooth fairy did not come because there was no tooth. Hopefully he will find it soon, or maybe the tooth fairy will have mercy on him this one time.

So Long Sucker

Well after three months of endless torture I have decided to quit the Walmart job. I worked on the weekends at night and I was always missing things like temple night and such. Instead Corey has again talked me into finishing my degree. He said there is no turning back this time. So I am in the process of applying yet again. I think I have backed out of school so many times because I am so unsure of what to go into and all the school stuff scares me. But Corey is going to go into the advisor with me and get everything laid out. It will hopefully only take me at most a year and a half but who knows. Then I can hopefully get a decent job and be able to work normal hours by then. So good-bye Walmart and hello education. I am sure they will have no problem replacing me with yet another high schooler (which made me feel like I was working with the cast of High School Musical all the time.) I will keep you updated on the school deal.

Lexie's Accident

Poor, poor Lexie. On Saturday I was in my bedroom putting the laundry away. I had the door to my bedroom closet open and the sloppy mother that I am left my yoga mat laying sprawled out. Lexie was running from her Dad playing and tripped on my mat and face planted onto the end of the open door. I saw her head snap back and I was actually scared for a couple of seconds until she started crying. The next day she had a major black eye and some bruises. I think I will put my yoga mat some place else from now on.

Just One Comment

It is amazing what just one comment from a stranger can do for your confidence. I was at the gym this morning, working out and trying this new 5X5 program (for those who know what that is) and I have been lifting really hard. After I was done, this lady approached me and asked if I was training for a weight lifting competition. Boy talk about make me feel good. I told her no, but that I would love to do one. So I have been walking on water today, being more patient and positive because of one person and her comment. Plus the guy last night who commented and said that "my arms were freakin awesome" helped as well. It keeps me motivated to try harder....hopefully by Cancun I can show my brother Thor how far I have come. It was because of him that I got into weight lifting and became serious about it. So thanks Thor for your motivation and support. I love you!!!

My New Calling

I was reading my friend Diantha's page and realized that I do have some new news this morning. I was released from YW and called to play the piano in Primary. Now I used to play in High School pretty well, but haven't really touched a piano since. I played yesterday with many mistakes, but I made it through. This is so weird for me considering I am so rusty on this. Corey and I are in the process of looking for a used piano to grace our home and hopefully it will get me feeling more confident. Obviously it will not look like the above piano, but if it plays that is all that matters to me.

Rain Rain Go Away

Let me start by saying I am not a hatter of rain. I actually enjoy a spring shower, but a spring flood I can do without. Within the past week we have had three MAJOR storms that have flooded our little town of Coweta all three times. The poor people who have houses in the low areas have found themselves in the same situation not one but three times. Corey and I have been lucky that our house is actually located up on a hill, so the water runs down the street and floods the houses at the end. We have not been able to mow our lawn, which has grown really high. All this water has made our backyard into a swimming pool and the kids haven't been able to go outside and play very often. This morning after last nights storm school was closed due to dangerous flooding across the roads. So I am stuck inside on a rainy day with all three kids. Hopefully warm and DRY weather will be here soon.

Conversation with Dad

A conversation between Corey Scott and Lexie after Corey mowed the lawn:

Lexie: Dad, what's that smell?

Corey: That's Gas

Lexie: Dad, I smell your ass. (not trying to be vulgar, but that is what she said)

Mom: Laughing in the background....

George Orwell's 1984

Well I finally finished 1984, and I had a hard time getting into the first part of the book. The end was thought provoking, because you could see how things could become reality if twisted the right way. I have to honestly say it was not one of my favorite reads, but at least I can say I have read it and know what people are talking about. If you like political books, you would probably like this one. It was funny because when I was working there was a teenage kid there who said he had to read 1984 that week for his English class. I made the comment that I just finished it and he looked at me and said "why did you even read it in the first place?" I thought what a good question, but you just never know and you can't start a book and not finish.....at least that is me anyways.

Never Satisfied

Well my husband has said he is tired of hearing it, so I guess I have to complain to my dear blog who always understands!! I hate to be one of those women who complain about their weight. I am not complaining necessarily about my weight, but how frustrated I am that I do not look like the women on Muscle and Fitness magazine. I workout hard everyday and run like crazy. Yes I did my Body fat with the skin fold test and I was 19 percent, which is in the lean category, but I am still not satisfied with my results. I know you girls out there don't want to hear my sob story...but I just want to get to my goal before I get pregnant again. (If I can talk myself into it one more time that is.) I have become accustomed to my three grown up kids and taking care of a baby is so much more work. Oh well, I will try harder I guess with my weights and exercise and hopefully in one month my body fat will have decreased somewhat. I was going to post a picture of myself in my Cancun bathing suit, but I just couldn't do it. Maybe next month!!! Boy being a women is so hard.

Can You Say Loser

I have officially lost it. So last night I got all ready for work. Got my snack all ready and went in. As I tried to clock in, the time clock informed me that I was not scheduled to work. I was so shocked, so I went and looked at the schedule and sure enough I was off. I felt so dumb. I was standing there trying to clock in all dressed in my Walmart attire and I was there on the wrong day. Luckily there are so many people who work there and don't personally know me, that I just walked around like I just got off work and collected my things and left. Boy did I feel dumb, and when I got home Corey thought something had happened, but nope just losing my mind here. I did double check my whole schedule and wrote it down so I could make sure it was correct on my calender. Losing your mind must be hereditary....huh mom?

Do I have to?

Today is Thursday, and for me that means the start of work. I usually work Thursday and Friday nights and then Saturday and Sunday sometime. I used to hate the week and covet the weekends, now I find it the other way around. I love my Monday thru Wednesday when I can just relax and spend time with the kids and read. The other days I always have in the back of my mind, oh ya I have to go to work. I have thought about quitting many times, but then the extra money comes in and it comes in handy. So I always just tell myself to suck it up and keep with it. Being a cashier is not a horrible job, but standing there for four hours can get really boring sometimes. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything. Hopefully tonight will go by quickly for me.
