Daddy Daughter Date

On Saturday my mom was still out in Utah visiting my brothers and sister. So since it will be my dad's birthday on Monday, I decided to take him out on a date with me. It started out with our usual trip grocery shopping. I always go with my parents on Saturday by myself. Gives me some time alone. But after we went grocery shopping I took dad out to Wendy's for lunch. Yes I know nothing fancy, but since we are both watching what we eat Wendy's has the best selection for low calories. Then I took him to see a movie. It was great to spend some one on one time with my dad. It is so great to live close to my parents and be around them all the time. I love it!!

Backyard play

Today we just went out back to play. It was actually really nice with the cloud cover. It didn't feel as hot and laying on the blanket wasn't torture, but really relaxing. I let the boys each take a picture with the camera, and they thought they were hot stuff. Gabe's is the one where I am showing him how to hold down the button. I know I look funny, but I promised Gabe I would put it on. Logan's actually turned out pretty good. The kids didn't really want to play today so I had to make them. Lexie kept saying take a picture mommy, so I would have to pretend since I already had one of that certain pose. It actually turned into a really nice day.

Day at the park

Last Thrusday I met my sister-in-law (Sally) at a park in Broken Arrow. The kids always love playing together. One of the big perks of having a cousins the same age. They played for about three hours. None of them really wanted to go, but man it was a little warm that day. I even got a little bit of a sunburn. Gabe, Logan and Samm pretty much run in a pack together and James and Lexie just wander around doing their own thing. Gabe of course had to go to the bathroom, poop of course, and there was no restroom. So I had to take him behind a tree and have him go on top of a diaper. I know pretty gross, but hey I would rather do that then clean up poopy underwear. It is so great now that the weather is getting warmer.

TKO

Boy don't you just love it when you walk into a room and find one of your little ones asleep in odd positions. That is what happened this afternoon. I guess being outside and jumping around really made Lexie tired. I had to take a picture. It is at moments like these that you feel your heart strings really tug. They just look so peaceful and sweet. I love to cuddle while they are sleeping, because I don't get kicked in the head. But I just had to publish this picture because it was just so cute.

Hopscotch

What a beautiful day!! It was so nice outside, that we decided to go play outside. Our backyard is like a pool, so we had to go in the frontyard. I have to stick close because the kids, mainly Lexie, seem to steer right for the road. We blew bubbles and played with sidewalk chalk. We did some good old hopscotch, and I thought it was so cute. Logan has pretty good coordination, so he did pretty good. Gabe was hilarious. It was so fun to see him try to concentrate so hard to hit the right squares. I am getting spring fever again, because it got cold for awhile there, and I am getting anxious for summer and all the fun things we can do outside.<>

baby

Last night we had some good friends of ours over, the Works, and they have three little girls. This gives Lexie such a great time considering she is usually rolling around trying to keep up with two boys. All the girls were in Lexie's room and we went to go clean up and there she was. They had put her in the basket and put a blanket on her. Plus she was sucking on one of her bottles. She would lay there and say mama. It was so cute to see her playing some girl things. Makes me hope that when we have another baby it will be a girl. She had such a great time.

Date night

Last Friday I finally got to go on a date with my sweetheart. On the side, thanks mom for watching the kids, we had a wonderful time together. Sometimes when you have a small house and three wild kids you lack quality time with you spouse to discuss things in private. So this was a great time for us. I actually got to sit down at a restraunt and just worry about myself. It was so quiet and we talked about some things and laughed and joked. It was great. It is in those quiet times that I realize how wonderful of a husband I have. We really are the best of friends and I feel that I could tell him anything. I had my mom take this picture to capture us actually going out alone. What a wonderful night!

Building a Tent

Yesterday after we had played outside for a little while, the kids really wanted to come back inside. Sometimes I really try to stretch my brain for things that don't involve the TV. Well I realized that we had never built a fort or tent in the living room before. It took two seconds and the kids loved it. Lexie loved it the most. She kept running in and out and knocking it down all the time. They also got to eat their snack under it, and they thought this was really cool. I kept it up for most of the afternoon, until they were knocking it down faster than I could clean it up. But at least they had some fun yesterday.

Daddy's Girl

All Corey talked about was having boys to play football. I think growing up with three brothers, he just assumed that boys were the best thing in the world to have. Not that we don't love our wild and crazy boys, but I think since Lexie came along he has been wrapped around her little finger. She will always bring a smile to his face and I can tell that if she keeps this up she will get a lot out of dad in the future. Corey really is the best dad.

Being Cool

For Easter Grandma had put some cool sunglasses in everyone's bucket. Lexie seemed to think that she was the coolest two year old around. She wore all three pairs, because each time she wore one, she would brake it. So now we don't have anymore, but at least I took a really cute pictures.

Too much Ranch!!!

Today we had some breaded chicken for dinner and I had given each kid a little glob of ranch to put their chicken in. Corey and I were relaxing in our bedroom when Gabe came and asked for more of the yummy white stuff. We told him that he had enough and to finish his dinner. A little while later Logan came and told us that Gabe did something that he wasn't supposed to. Sure enough we go out there, and I had left the bottle of ranch sitting on the counter. Gabe had tried to pour it himself and got half the bottle on his plate. We were impressed that he wanted to be a big boy, but on the bad side he was being sneaky and wasted about half the bottle. I couldn't get too mad at him because he just looked so cute with this plate full of ranch. So this is for you mom, because I finally took a picture of someones mishap. Corey told him he had to eat all the ranch to get ice cream and he got a little scared about that. But he was just kidding.

Easter Egg Hunt

Today we went on an Easter Egg hunt at Sally and Josh's house. It was so much fun to see how excited they all were. The boys kept asking me all day if it was time to go to Samm's house (my niece) so when we got there it was a little wild. But after I help hide the eggs, the kids seemed to find them too quick. It was over before we even began. So to be fair we made sure everyone had equal eggs. Gabe ate all his candy within a matter of minutes. His mouth was always stuffed full. Lexie wouldn't even let us hold her bucket, I think she was scared that mommy was going to enjoy her candy. But it was a lot of fun. Oh by the way, it was freezing outside. Only in the lower 40's. So that explains all the hats and coats. Bummer.

Gabe's Big Boo Boo

It is surprising to know that after three years of being a crazy boy that Gabe finally had his real bleeding accident. For those of you who know Gabber, he is extremely hyper and has an endless supply of energy. Always doing somersaults and always jumping all over the floor and couch. In the mornings I walk with a friend (Hi Heidi) and we were walking on a little track in her neighborhood. Gabe came running up to give me a hug and slipped off the side of the gravel sidewalk and scrapped his knee all the way down his shin. Good Heidi (she is a nurse) to the rescue. There was actually a lot of blood and I think that scarred him more than anything. Gabe also can be extremely dramatic so he was upset for about half an hour. But boy is he proud of his knee now. He has shown it to everyone. !!

Princess PJ's

Tonight when we got home, I gave Lexie a bath and put the new Princess PJ's that Grandma and Grandpa Esquibel gave her for her birthday. She just looked so cute I had to take a picture. She just kept saying how cute she looked and I had to agree. What a cute little girl!

Lexie's Birthday

Today we celebrated Lexie's birthday since Logan had his party yesterday on her birthday. It is really hard to fit two birthdays in one weekend. But I guess this will not be the only time we are pressed for time. She had so much fun opening presents. She got a Leap Frog Letter helper from Mom and Dad, four My Little Ponies from Grandma Rollins, a sitting bouncy ball from Uncle Josh and Aunt Sally, plus a really cute jumper. And then she got the cutest clothes from Grandma and Grandpa Esquibel. I don't think she really understand fashion just yet, but mom sure loves them. I can't wait to put them on her. Instead of baking a whole other cake, we basically just ate Logan's cake from yesterday. I thought having another 9x13 pan would be just too much for us to handle. But I think she had a really good time. Thanks everyone!!

Hanging with Grandma

Today was General Conference so we always go to my mom's house to watch on my dad's big TV. We had so much fun today hanging with Grandma. All of the kids love Grandma, but I have to say that Logan seems to be really attached. He is always with Grandma and follows her everywhere. But I know that she just loves it.
