Look at what I found!!

I have just found one good reason for moving...yes finding a priceless treasure that you have totally forgotten about. Well I am here to share with all of you some of these misplaced treasures....old photos. I know people are just sitting there (especially family) worried that I am about to post a horrible picture of you. Well calm yourself. Most of these are of my husband and of course I found some of Josh in the process. And there is one photo of Seth Johnson (sorry Julie) that I just couldn't pass up. So enjoy yourself, because I sure did.

Look at Josh.....everyone has one of these photos. The one year that you were in that awkward stage. But under those huge glasses you can still see what a cutie he is.
School dance from I don't know when. In high school though. My brother Josh is the shirtless fellow right in the middle. My lovely husband is on the far right. He looks like he is an alien from outer space. He claims he doesn't remember taking this picture. How could you not.
I think the guys were putting on a skit for their prom dates in this picture. I have to admit my hubby looks so cute in it. We have a lot of pictures with the three musketeers.

Corey's senior pictures.

Picture of Corey camping with his Cousin Jessica. (what do you think Jessica?)

This is my ultimate favorite. This just goes to show that you shouldn't take a picture that you don't want re shown 12 years from then. The three musketeers went to Myrtle Beach SC for their senior break and you should see some of the pictures. I love this one of Seth. Posing that oh so sexy look under the pier. What do you think ladies?

Picture I found of Corey's Dad and brothers. I think it is just too cute.

Corey and his brother Jereme in a football tribute photo. Those boys sure loved football and they still love to watch it just as much.

Corey at my brother Thor's wedding, playing with my cousins Jandi and Todd. I am sure if they could see this they would die. This is how I remember my little cousin Todd who is now in high school.

Corey as the Homecoming King...he claims he got this out of pity. Could it be he was actually being modest?

This photo is a love hate relationship. I hate the lovely pose with the unknown females from the beach. But I have to admit my hubby looks super hot in this photo. No wonder they were all cuddling up to him. Can't say as I blame them. But the joke is on them because he is all mine now!!

What about everyone else? Do you have old photos that are just great and you want to share?
I took my mom's camera and decided that I would take some pictures to post. I haven't had any in awhile and I was getting bored of my own blabbing with nothing to look at. We all like pictures to look at right? So although these are not the most action packed I have ever taken, they are something to look at.

We jammed everything we owned into my parents three car detach until the movers get here on Monday. Talk about tight. We were scared that we wouldn't make it all fit. But Corey did a great job of stacking as high as possible. So when I say I don't want to venture out in the detach I am not exaggerating.

Hailey just had her six month check-up yesterday, even though I was a bit late getting her in, and then of course she has an ear infection so I didn't even get her shots done. So when I get to MD, I have to find a ped. quick. but she weighs 16 pounds and her height was in the 25th percentile I know that. She is healthy and strong (besides the cold) and she is getting an attachment to mom, which I am not too upset about. I love that she wants me more than others and smiles at me more. It makes going through those nine months of pregnancy all worth it. She is still falling over when trying to sit, but she is already on all fours ready to crawl. I am just waiting for it. She is basically rolling all over the place anyways. It is hard to know where she will end up on the floor if you put her down.

I had to post this picture. She had just got done eating bananas and with her cold she sneezed really hard. can you tell which is banana and which is snot? It is hard to tell I know. But I can assure you most of it was snot.

Hailey has also gotten her first tooth on the bottom and I think she is getting the second one as well. She is a little sweetheart and everywhere we go people are enthralled with her. It might be those huge pretty blue eyes, or most likely those HUGE cheeks that dimple when she smiles.
We take off on Tuesday for our adventure to MD. I am excited and nervous and anxious for this all to be over. I will take tons of photos (I promise) and post as soon as we get Internet up there. It shouldn't be too long because Corey needs it for his Master's classes. I will try to take more pictures over the weekend and post before we take off.

What a Day!!! (or two)

Once again I have no pictures of my latest adventures. I wish I could find that dang cable, but there is no way I am venturing out in that detach to try and find it. But I have had some crazy things happen lately....

Started yesterday with the fact I took the kids to school, stopped by the grocery store and when I pulled into my mom's driveway, realized that I forgot to put the key to their house back on my key chain. I have no cell phone, my husband does not have a key. So I have to drive a long ways to the hospital where my mom works to get her garage door opener so I can get in. So I am trying to drive pretty fast because I have all these things that need to be kept cool. Did I mention I also did not have any bottles for Hailey who is sick right now with an ear infection? So I drive all the way home and finally get into the house.

Things started to get better when we closed on our house that afternoon and actually made 1000 dollars more than we were projected. So we were excited about that.

Fast forward to today. I get online to do a change of address form and I realized after I submitted the form that I put my landlords address in instead of mine. I tried to change it, but it said I had to go to the post office to fill out a special form. I have to drive all the way down there and then the guy at the counter had no idea what to do. So I had to wait for the post master to fix this one number error.....annoying.

Hailey had her 6 month visit and had this horrible cold that she had since we were in MD. I thought it was just a regular cold, but no she had an infection and couldn't get her shots. So now she is on medication and I have to take her back to a Dr. in MD in a couple of weeks to recheck her and to finally get her shots up to date.

Compact that fact that the place we are moving into is a new build so the address is not being accepted at almost all the places we submit it. I don't even think we have a mailbox up yet. The phone/Internet people are saying the address doesn't exist, even though we were there personally.

But to end on a good note. I kept saying I didn't want to drive all the way to the Stake center to get my temple recommend done....I was done as I said. I just wanted to crawl into bed and sleep for days. But I got all dressed and went down there. Talk about lifting my mood. I felt so much better after leaving that interview. The member of the stake presidency that I met with said a closing prayer and included me with help on the move. I can't tell you how much that meant to me. It just goes to show, that even when you feel like you just don't want to do anything with church it is probably Satan who is making you feel that way. Because when you do take that step you actually feel even better than you could have imagined.

Maybe tomorrow I might actually get time to take a nap......that sounds nice.

Feel like I am spinning in circles.....

Well I will say that I am glad to be back and into a normal routine. I did miss my little munchkins while I was away...but I was so glad there were not there to witness mom's total meltdown. So we went to see that old house, and from the pictures it looks great right.....WRONG. We walked in and I looked at Corey and he had this look on his face like he was going to literally kill me. So he went outside by himself to collect his thoughts before saying anything. I just kinda walked around the house dumbfounded with the landlord. The house had no normal closets. They were all the size of the Nauvoo ones if you have seen them. Just barely big enough to squeeze in sideways. Plus the floors were horrible. The pictures were not showing it's true form. So he takes me upstairs and the bathroom is a small closet. Then he steps into this little room that is as big as a walk in closet and I realize this is the 3rd bedroom. They could call it that because of the window. But a twin bed wouldn't even fit in there. I just looked at the guy and told him not only was my husband going to kill me but that I felt like I was going to throw up. So I went and found Corey and the guy was actually pretty cool about it. Of course we couldn't get our deposit back (1000 dollars lost), but he did let us out of the lease that we already signed. I was so relieved. But I was so mad at myself for doing that. I felt horrible. Thankfully Corey is so understanding and very supportive.

So we left and went to work calling and seeing places. We didn't stop for a second, not even for lunch. But on the second day we found a brand new duplex with a two car garage that was in our price range. So we got that instead. I love it.

So this trip was not what we planned for. Other things gone wrong. Our formula for Hailey exploded in our luggage and I spend about an hour cleaning that up when we got to the hotel. Plus Hailey got super sick on Friday and we had to travel with a sick crying baby. Plus she broke her first tooth as well. I was glad to get home let me tell you.

So hopefully now there will be no more major hiccups and we can move next week knowing that we have a decent place to live in. Sorry I took no pictures but I was not in the picture taking mood I guess you could say. Hopefully I will get back into better blogging once we get settled in Hagerstown.

Need some good ideas

So I mentioned in the last email how the bishops wife in PA (sister Daniels) went up and looked at the house for us. She was so willing to help out even though she had no idea who I was. She even offered a place for us to stay when we came down next week. I know this would be hard considering she is a mother of 7. But she was willing none the less. She also invited us over for dinner one night next week when we fly up. I can't help but feel so grateful for an ally in this move already. If I could, I would have sent a hug right through the phone to her. Everyone knows I have a hard time getting to know new people, but she has been so helpful and extra nice I already feel accepted.

So here is where this good idea headline comes in, I really need an idea on what to get her as a thank you. If I could bake cookies in the hotel room that would be one thing, but since I can't I need an idea for something that will let her know just how much I appreciated everything she did for me. So here is where all you lovely readers come in. I have no idea how many actually read my blog, but I sure could use your input. If I don't know you, that is ok. Someone that willing to go out on a limb for a stranger deserves a nice thank you.

I'm still alive

Please don't worry, I am still breathing and alive. I don't have pictures because my hubby packed the camera cable and we have NO IDEA where it might be. I am currently surrounded by thousands of boxes and I feel so unorganized. But I can't complain. Things have been going so smoothly for us. We have been blessed.
I wish I had a picture because Haily is up on her hands and knees a lot now. She still can't sit very well, because she prefers being on her belly and up on her hands and knees. She squirms all over the floor now. I wish I had my camera to take pictures, but that will have to wait till after the move.
You already know we sold our house. Closing is set for the 24th and there have been no hang ups. Yes we had things to fix on the inspection, but it has gone pretty smooth. So everything is set for turn off and we are moving into my parents house for two weeks tomorrow. Good bye first house!!!

Corey also lumped on my shoulders the responsibility of calling for rentals. They are outrageous out there. Costing way too much for us. So we started looking in PA and we found a three bedroom two bath house in a little town called Waynesboro. It has under 10,000 people and it seems so cute. The house is located in the old part of town, but the guy has totally redone it and it looks amazing. So through lots of calling, (and yes even calling the bishop's wife in the area to go and actually look at it), we finally signed the lease today. So we have our place already. It will be nice to go up next week and looking at it and going to the school to get the kids all ready to go. Plus it frees up one full day so we can go somewhere to site see. I want to go to Gettysburg, so we will see.

I am kinda sad to see our little lives here in Tulsa come to an end, but at the same time I feel excitement at what will happen in PA and how this will change our lives. There is just a small Ward there in Waynesboro, so I am sure we are needed there more than MD. I will take lots of pictures and post them as soon as we get up there and get everything set up. I have attached a couple of photo's the landlord sent to me. I love the refinished hardwood floors through out the whole house. The bishop's wife says the only bad part is the scary basement where I have to do laundry. But I will take one of the boys down with me to protect me. It also has an attic with the old staircase that goes up with a door. Makes me think of Flower in the Attic for some reason.

Inspired for next year

I already did a 15K race in 2007 here in Tulsa. And I loved the sense of accomplishment I felt from that. I trained really hard and I felt I did a great job. I still love my metal I got and I have to steal it back from Lexie who thinks it is a toy. Well at my parents house today my dad was watching a Triathlon for women and I finally felt inspired to do something about it. It is a lot of training, swimming (which I am not fond of) and the fact I don't have a bike yet. But I have already found a triathlon located within 30 miles of where we are moving in MD. So I think this was the final decision for me. I can't officially register for the 2010 race till September but I plan on doing it early so i can't back out.

I plan on starting my training schedule in January and then I should be ready by May. Hopefully MD will have a place for me to train in the swimming pool part of the race. Like I said, I love to swim for fun, but swimming long distance really wears me out. If you want to check out this site I found which gives you free training logs and race information nationwide I have included the link. http://beginnertriathlete.com/

I still have plenty of time before I start to freak out here, but that will give me what I need to find a decent bike and save up for it. Along with all the gear I will need for this. When I actually start training in January I will post my workouts and how they went. I figure since I am blogging about it I can't back out right?
