First Day of School and TOU Half Marathon

I can not believe school has started again.  Usually summer last forever for me, but for some reason this summer just flew by.  I think as the kids get older it is easier for me to hang out with them and have fun.  I have some witty kids and there was rarely a day where I wasn't laughing.  But we had some huge changes this year for school.  Lexie moved up to the intermediate school which is much bigger.  Gabe got to move into the new upper elementary school and be the first class in that school.  It is super nice.  And Logan moved into the Middle School this year.  They have the rotating AB schedule and he changes classes every hour, has lots of teachers and even his own locker.  When I went to open house it really made me sad to think my oldest is getting that old.  He will stay in the middle school until he enters high school in 9th grade.  They were super excited to go to school.  I had to take the first day of school photos.
Gabe going into big 5th grade.
Hailey would be in Preschool if I paid for it or the school offered it.  Next year cutie.
The crew all together.  Notice that Gabe did not want to sit beside Lexie.  He was being such a brat and Logan could tell it was hurting Lexie's feelings so he put his arms around her.  What a great brother.
 Lexie in big 3rd grade.
 Big Logan in 6th grade.

School started on Thursday and I had planned on running a half marathon on that following Saturday.  I didn't know what day school would start when I registered.  It was 6 months before hand.  So they went to one day of school and then we took them out on Friday so I could drive up to Logan UT and run.  I know everyone is tired of my posting race pictures but this was a special race.  First off it was the first half marathon I got to run with my brother Thor.  He looks big and you figure he wouldn't be that fast, but he spanked it.  He ran 13.1 miles in like 1 hour and 54 minutes.  Not bad by any one standards.  It was also important because I started my good friend Bonnie running when she lived here in Douglas.  We laugh because when she first did 1 mile she didn't think she would ever get up to 13.  So I issued her the half challenge and she ran with it literally.  That girl took to running like you wouldn't believe.  So she flew in from Montana and we ran together.  I told her I would stick with her and I did up until about mile 11.  She was getting frustrated and walking and was about to give up.  I gave her tons of positive talk but I think I was just getting annoying after awhile.  I could tell she needed some space so I told her I would see her at the finish line.  I took off and finished fast and got a time of 2 hours and 2 minutes.  Bonnie finished at 2 hours and 9 minutes.  I was so proud of her.  Not a bad time for her first half.  She was so upset at herself for getting frustrated and letting it get to her.  If you have ever ran long distance you sometimes hit something called "The Wall" where you mentally hurt yourself and give up.  She hit it hard.  But she recovered well from it.  This was my first race post baby and it has given me the racing bug.  I am taking the fall off for the holidays and then I will be back in it in January training for a half in the spring and maybe if I feel good a full in the fall.  It was a great experience.
Corey got me coming in on the home stretch.
 Bonnie and I afterwards.
Here is our little crew.  Thor and his friend from work and then Bonnie and I.  I had a blast.

Run Forest Run

I know I haven't posted anything in regards to my training and up coming race but I seem to have lost myself in my life...lol.  I had a long 13 miles run one Saturday and these lovely ladies helped me finish the last 4.  We look pretty pasty but I think it was the camera.  I have my race this Saturday with my brother and my good friend Bonnie.  I am way excited and love that I am back in the racing game.

Danni 6 Months Old

6 months old!!  I can hardly believe that she has been here a half year already.  Time really is going pretty fast and she is just getting so stinking big and fat.  I love it.  Her thighs alone have enough rolls to serve a whole family.  She is for the most part a pretty well behaved baby and for some reason has it in her head she has to have a visual of mom 24/7.  I get lots of compliments on her cute cheeks and her frizzy stand on end hair (which I frequently do in a Mohawk).

This girl loves her food.  She has eaten every kind of baby food I can find.  She opens right up and on the fruits she will even hum mmmm after each bite.  Leftover sweet potatoes anyone?

Something so cute about a happy smile and a snotty nose....

 Wants that camera really bad...

She is starting to get the hang of sitting up.  She can sit for awhile if she is occupied with a good toy.  I see so much of Logan it is crazy.

And guess who got her bottom teeth in....yep both at the same time.  Now she has these cute little guys to add to her already adorable smile.

Kindergarten Night

This post was supposed to be dedicated to my YW activity last night but I found these lovely pictures on my camera and couldn't resist posting them.  I came into the living room and Hailey had crowned Danni princess for the day.  She kept it on for awhile too.  She just looked so dang cute.....

Now back to my original purpose of posting.  As you know from my past post I have been dumpy lately.  And I can't help but feel the Lord has blessed me with the calling to be in YW.  There is something so contagious about being around teenage girls who want to be around you.  We don't have a ton of girls, but what we lack in quantity we make up in quality.  I am over the Mia-Maids and I only have 2 girls.  Ashlee ( the crazy girl down front) is my president and we came up with kindergarten night.  So I made the girls get pigtails and freckles and we had a night of kid games.  It was pretty funny to see the girls do hopscotch and a bubble gum blowing contest.  But I have to admit the best part was playing red light green light and red rover outside on the lawn.  We had so much fun and I am sure if you were to drive by you couldn't tell the leaders from the girls (well maybe if they got up close and noticed all our wrinkles).   I had such a great time with the girls and they really did lift my spirits for this week.  They will probably never know how much they mean to me.
